The Pill Kills National Day of Action – June 7th

June 7th is The Pill Kills National Day of Action. Cosponsored by 51 organizations in 20 states, “The Pill Kills” campaign encourages peaceful protests and prayer vigils at Planned Parenthood facilities and other venues that dispense contraceptives.

“The pill was the lifelong dream of Margaret Sanger, developed and deployed by Planned Parenthood through its benefactors as an integral tool in the war on women and babies,” said Rita Diller, director of American Life League’s The Pill Kills effort. “While Planned Parenthood is making millions annually selling contraceptives and abortions, it spins out propaganda at a dizzying rate to convince girls and women they cannot live happy, productive lives without putting the dangerous hormonal steroids classified as Group 1 carcinogens into their bodies day after day.”

Birdies for Charity Fundraiser to Benefit Iowa Right to Life – July 7-13

From Iowa Right to Life:  The John Deere Classic and Birdies for Charity are raising money for local charities. You can help support the Iowa Right to Life Education Fund by making a pledge for the number of birdies that will be made at this year’s John Deere Classic PGA golf tournament on July 7-13th. Iowa Right to Life hopes to use the funds to support their information booth at Iowa State Fair to share the pro-life message with thousands.

Simply pledge one cent or more for every birdie you think will be made during the tournament. Last year, there were 2,142 birdies, so a one-cent donation would have amounted to $21.42 for the Iowa Right to Life Education Fund. In addition to pledging, you have the opportunity to guess the number of birdies made. If you guess the correct number you could win a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze.

To pledge, send your Birdies for Charity pledge form (get it HERE) to: Iowa Right to Life Education Fund, 1500 Illinois Street, Des Moines, Iowa 50314. Iowa Right to Life’s Bird number is 1761 and the donation deadline is June 30, 2014. See their website for more details HERE.

Sign Petition – Tell Google to Stop Banning Pro-Life Ads!

Please consider taking one minute to sign the petition and request that Google stop their ban of pro-life ads. According to Act Right: “Under pressure from pro-abortion rights group NARAL, Google has banned ads from crisis pregnancy groups who were bidding on abortion related keywords in order to offer an alternative. Let Google know that you oppose their banning of ads because of pro-abortion political pressure.”

Webcam Abortions Stopped at Three Planned Parenthood Locations

Recently, Iowa Right to Life reported that the Urbandale Planned Parenthood location has stopped providing webcam abortions and this week they learned that “the Planned Parenthood of the Heartland webcam abortion facilities in Red Oak and Creston, Iowa, will close on June 18!” In the last couple years, “twelve Iowa Planned Parenthoods have closed for good, many of which sold webcam abortions.”

Congratulations to all of the pro-life people who were part of the 40 Days for Life prayer vigil at these facilities!

Continue to Pray for an End of Webcam Abortions

On June 16th a judge will hear the oral arguments regarding webcam abortions in Iowa. Please pray and consider fasting for the judge to rule in favor of the Medical’s Board’s recommendation to stop webcam abortions.

Rock for Life is seeking interns who would travel to many Christian Music Festivals in the Midwest and on the East Coast throughout the summer. This would be a great opportunity for pro-life students who would like to share their passion for life as well as gain valuable experience in “pro-life educating, recruitment, merchandising, management, social media, blogging, photography, video and many other skills.”

For more details about the internship and how to apply, please see their website HERE or e-mail

Kansas Defunds Planned Parenthood

Kansas has recently become one of the first states to be able to defund Planned Parenthood! According to Operation Rescue, “Planned Parenthood recently dropped their legal challenge to the 2011 state law that reallocated Title X Family Planning funds to community groups that do not participate in abortion. This move allows the law to take effect, stripping Planned Parenthood of hundreds of thousands of tax dollars each year. Currently ten states have passed laws to defund Planned Parenthood, but some of those are tied up in court. Kansas is among the first states that have been freed to actually pull the funding.”

This is encouraging! Hopefully we can get to this point in Iowa someday!
