Pro Life Lent

Lenten Pro-life Prayer
Father of all mercy,
We thank you for this season of grace and light.
We know that sin has blinded us.
Draw us ever closer to you, in prayer and penance.
Since you, O God, are light itself,
Give all your people a clearer understanding
Of what is sin, and what is virtue.
Grant in particular that we may see, as never before,
The profound dignity of every human life,
Including the vulnerable unborn children.
Give us grace to defend
Our brothers and sisters in the womb
By our prayers, our words,
And our self-sacrificing actions.
We pray through Christ our Lord. Amen

The next Diocesan Pro Life meeting will be at St. Pius X in Urbandale  at 6 Pm on March, 6th.

Dear Respect Life Supporters:

We’re back from the recent March for Life. Here’s a quick recap:

  • IFL has taken busses to the Washington DC March for over three decades! This year, we packed another three busses with students for one of the most memorable Marches ever.

  • This was the first March that the sitting President addressed us live and in person from the White House lawn. Thank-you, President Trump.

  • Crowds were mammoth, too large to even estimate, and dwarfed the pro-abortion ‘Women’s March’ which occurred the next day.

Please consider attending next year.
The March for Life is truly a pilgrimage.

  • We are engaged in a spiritual battle. To that end, we attended the archdiocesan of Washington DC Youth Rally and Mass immediately preceding the the march, at which four young women accepted the call to a religious vocation! God is so present in the hearts of the young (and us all!) at the March for Life!

  • Visit our WEBSITE for more photos from this year’s March.

Recent Pew Institute Research Center shows that support for abortion varies widely by religious denominations.  Click here to read the article in the National Catholic Register.
